It is painful when we compromise ourselves to meet the perceived expectations of others. Joy comes when we listen to our intuition and step out boldly to follow the wonderful plan God has placed in our hearts. Unity minister Ellen Debenport, author of Hell in the Hallway, Light at the Door, was invited in to read and discuss today's Daily Word®, "Brilliance." Click here to listen/download.
The word "wicked" occurs more than 300 times in the Bible and is one of the most important terms to be found therein. In the Bible the word "wicked" really means "bewitched" or "Under a spell." the Law of Being is perfect harmony, and that truth never changes; out man uses his free will to think wrongly, and thus he builds up false conditions around him, and then believes them to be real. They look real, and so he forgets that it was he himself who made them, and thus he bewitches himself, or throws himself under a kind of spell; and of course as long as he remains bewitched in this way he has to suffer the consequences. Nevertheless, it is only illusion, or a spell, and it can be broken by turning to God.
The only way to break such a spell is to think of God, and that is why Jesus called it the strait and narrow way. "Oh foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you?" said Paul, when he heard that some of his students had begun to believe in evil in this way.
"The wicked flee when no man pursueth." "The wicked shall be turned into hell." "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him." These are statements of what happens when we allow ourselves to be bewitched by our own thoughts into believing in any power other than God. We flee when no man pursueth--we are afraid of things without reason. We can suffer the pains of hell because "fear hath torment" --but when we turn to God, the spell is broken and harmony is restored.
Let us awaken from the spell under which the whole race lives, and know instead that God is all Power, infinite Intelligence, and boundless Love.
–Emmet Fox, .Make Your Life Worthwhile (pg64).

The 3 Breaths
"When I break the spell, I'm freed from hell!"
"When I break the spell, I'm freed from hell!"
This person needs to make a decision on his own. It may be a wrong one, but all of us make wrong decisions. The mature mind accepts the results of his error and minimizes any self-guilt. He proceeds on his course and makes more decisions, the majority of them being right.
Check your guilt load and begin rationalizing it away. No one ever makes mistakes on purpose. Mistakes are not consciously planned, they may be subconsciously planned, but even these can be freed of their emotional importance. The lower your guilt load, the greater in your mental health.
No power anywhere sits in judgment of you. The universe is unconcern your mistakes. You are you're only judge, and the faculties of your mind are your only jury. –Raymond Charles Barker, The Power of Decision
However, there is no way you can get a new self image that could change your life if you begin with self rejection. The missing link in the practice of self image psychology is the realization that you do not change your self image by rejecting what you are but by discovering what you are.
You are already created in the image-likeness of God, not can be if you speak a lot of positive affirmations of truth. Your true image is not something to get; it is a reality to discover. There is that of you that is the likeness of God. It is your " I AM-age" this is what you really are, what you have always been. You can never be less. Oh, you may identify yourself as less, and thus project that awareness into your life experience. You may go along in all your affairs seeing less and manifesting less. As the poet says, many persons die with all their music in them. But you can never be less then your "I AM-age", for you were created with your very own Divine potentiality and the power to for fill it in a prosperous and successful life experience. How futile it is to try to "get" a success-image!
It is interesting that in the parable the prodigal son does not say, "I am a terrible person! Perhaps if I go back home I will get a new self image." No, the parable says very simply that "he came to himself." (LUKE 15:17) Then he went home, not in quest of his "I AM-age", but out of his conscious realization of it." -Spiritual Economics by Eric Butterworth
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Marianne Williamson
We have a job to do. Like the moon and stars, we have our own special light to bring to the world. If we don't do it, no one else will; in fact, no one else can – because it is our special light. When we do our part, we help make the world a more beautiful place. –God Grant Me…, December 4
The Taoist religion is one of the simplest paths to God. It advises, "Just be what you are. You do not need to change yourself to be divine. You are creative spirit, and to be powerful and happy, simply let nature take it's course. " –A Deep Breath of Life by Alan Cohen, December 4
There is nothing in the Universe that wishes evil to anyone. Indeed, it is only as we experience good that God is expressed through us. The more completely we express God and the more of God do we become, that is, the more does God become personified through us. –Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, Pg. 470
You are not an observer of the universe. You are a vital participant of the universe. Let no one ever again tell you of your unimportance. God did not make a mistake when you were born. Intelligence created you to live in these times because you are equipped to meet the challenges of these times. You are the right person, in the right place, to create a right world for yourself. All of the resources of the infinite are already yours. They need you as a means of self-expression. –Raymond Charles Barker, The Power of Decision

Brilliance
MY RADIANT DIVINITY SHINES THROUGH MY AUTHENTIC HUMANITY AND I AM WHOLE.
Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth …you are the light of the world.” We are both human and divine. My human nature is real, open, and honest. I am grateful for my earthly body with which I express love, wisdom, and compassion.
My divine nature shines in acts of kindness and service. As musician Karen Drucker sings in “Let It Shine,” “I let my big, bright, brilliant beam of radiant light shine.” This affirmation echoes through my mind as I go about my day.
Jesus inspired us to shine our light as boldly as a city on a hill. Yet he also urged us to preserve our saltiness—our earthly grounding. I am radiantly whole when I embrace and express both my authentic, human self and my radiant, divine light.
You are the salt of the earth ... You are the light of the world.–Matthew 5:13-14

Joke of the Day
A little girl runs out to the backyard where her father is working, and asks him, "Daddy, what's sex?"
Her father sits her down, and tells her all about the birds and the bees. He tells her about conception, sexual intercourse, sperms and eggs. He goes on to tell her about puberty, menstruation, erections, wet-dreams...and he thinks, what the hell, and goes on to tell her the works.
He covers a wide and varied assortment of sub topics and by the time he's finished, his daughter is somewhat awestruck with this sudden influx of bizarre new knowledge.
Her father finally asks: "So what did you want to know about sex for?"
"Oh, mommy said to tell you lunch would be ready in a couple of secs..."
