Giving makes us rich. It's the perfect prescription for improved health, wealth, and well-being. Funniest Thing! fan Sandy Page joins Darrell and Ed to read and discuss today's Daily Word®, "Sharing."  Click here to download podcast.
The 3 Breaths
"When it's time to get living, it's time to get giving."

God is the divine givingness of the Universe. And you are created in the image-likeness of this divine givingness. You cannot make any sense out of life or realize the free flow of substance in your experience until you begin to see yourself as a giver.   It may mean a complete turnaround in your approach to life, where you think "give" instead of "get. "  In your spiritual quest, you are seeking to establish yourself in a unitive relationship with the divine flow.   You can never really achieve this level of consciousness until giving becomes the main thrust of your life. And when it does, when you discover the wonder of giving, you become, unblushingly, an incurable giver.  Meditate long on this point, fruit is one of the most important keys of the prosperity law. Life for the whole person is a giving process.  –Spiritual Economics, Eric Butterworth, pg 169.
It is a great truth that "love begets love. "  We have only to start practicing the circulation of loving thoughts, words, and actions in our life to prove this. It is correspondingly true that if we desire much joy and happiness, we must radiate more happiness into other lives.  If we want more vigor and vitality, we must put to work the physical energy we already have. If we want success and prosperity, we must use the utmost what is already ours. In other words, stagnation his death but circulation in is life.  Prosperity is sixth Commandment therefore is this: Thou shall not take thy wealth out of circulation.  –Prosperity's Ten Commandments, Georgiana Tree West, pg 36.
The Coin of Love

Your real wealth is–How much Life or Love you have.  Love is the willingness of Life to give. Use Love as you would use money. Spend it lavishly. Love is the magnet that draws things to you.
Say, "Divine Love in me is an irresistible magnet drawing my good to me instantly. "
Love is the universal coin that reaches out to all. Love is giving, not hard gold, but silver-gold thoughts, helping people find themselves and return to their true heritage of wealth. So, you buy everything you want on the Spiritual plane with Love, Joy and Praise.

The Coin of Praise

Praise is Love's avenue of expression, a form of Love. Use it and mean it. Praise anything or anybody, and he will instantly respond to you and give you his best. It is the Spirit of Consciousness of God or Love within you which is the source of your true wealth.  The more you draw upon it the more it will increase.

The Coin of Joy

Joy is the "How " you get what you want.  Pour Joy through you by getting in the mood of delight, then think of the things you want, and poor Joy into them, and you stimulate them into activity. This activity of Joy is contagious.
–YOU, Frances Wilshire, pg 37 - 38.

God is more completely expressed through the man who lives largely than through the one who lives meagerly.  Fear is a belief in limitation, a denial that the Divine is the Center and the Source of all good. “Perfect love casts out fear;” that is, confidence overcomes the depression of doubt... To overcome fear is the greatest adventure of the mind of man.  –The Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes, pg 404.

Sharing
I share my blessings with effortless generosity.

Today I practice prosperity by sharing my blessings. When I receive a sum of money or something else of value, I share it. I consider organizations and individuals who feed me spiritually and give back to them with my time, talent, and treasure. I enjoy sharing and notice how my generosity lifts the spirits of others.
Charles Fillmore, cofounder of Unity, taught that “we increase whatever we praise.” When I notice someone has done well, gone above and beyond, or has said or done something inspiring, I praise them. Appreciating them makes me happy! Seeing the joy on another’s face is reason enough to generously share my praise and blessings.

They broke bread ... with glad and generous hearts ... And day by day the Lord added to their numbers those who were being saved.–Acts 2:46-47
The Message:  Acts 2: 46-47

They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.

From Paul Lucas, Butler, PA

Hello Darrell and Ed.  I am listening to your latest show (Freedom’s just another word…) where Darrell ( think its Darrell) is talking about his distress.

Have you read “Heart-Shaped Metaphysics” by Paul Hassellbeck? In there they talk about chemicalization?  It is a process we go through when we try to adopt these new ideas and when they come up against the unworthy thoughts we used to have.  It sounds like you might be going through this. Read up on it.  Also they talk about it on an episode of Metaphysical Romp. You can find it by using the search feature on the unity fm site.

Best Wishes,  Paul Lucas your friend and fan.

From Blind Bobby Biggs  Tampa, FL

Hi guys.  It's Bobby also known as Ace.  I hope you are doing well.  I like this topic about having freedom over my thoughts; could've used it last week when I was going to visit a good friend.  Being that things have been changing in my life I wasn't so sure about this friend of mine who has been in my life for three and a half years.  Well, God took care of everything.  I had a great weekend.  Now I'm back and I'm about to take my nap.  Keep me in prayer this summer

Because we are now in our thunderstorm season.  That's never a fun time of year for me.  Thank you for everything.  Love you guys.

Bobby

This episode's 'funniest thing' story included this heart-warming request for a signed copy of Darrell's book, What If Godzilla Just Wanted a Hug?

Hi. I'm buying this for my friend's son. He just turned 16 and is a talented illustrator with his own sense of humor that he brings out in his characters. He's starting home schooling because of several bullying instances at school. Despite everything he's been through, he remains a bright light, cheerful and positive young man, always willing to show you his next creation. He's taught us by example to lead with our hearts, so it is a pleasure to share this with him. Thank you.

Signed with a personal note on the inside title page and ready to go.

The 3 Breaths
"When God's in charge, life is large."

There is a way, the "highway of the Lord." Will you take that way? It is a broad way, and there is room for everybody. Jesus called it the kingdom of the heavens and said that "all these things" should be added to those who sought it. This implies that you do not have fully to enter this kingdom in order to have the things added, but you do have to "seek."  You must turn your attention in the right direction; then they begin to come to you...
Trust God in all things, and see the result made apparent by the mental currents that you set going all about you. You may not be able to point out just how each separate word of allegiance to the Father took effect, but as the months go by you will gradually observe the various changes that are taking place in your mind, body, and affairs. You will find that your ideas have broadened immensely to begin with. The little world has been transformed into a big world. You have begun to think about realities instead of appearances. Your mind is more alert, and you can discern when before you were in doubt. Your body is vital, and you are free from inharmony and weakness.  You are not so fearful. The consciousness that there is a divine hand guiding the universe and you has given you a feeling of security. This has extended to your body and your affairs. There is an absence of prejudice and faultfinding in you. You do not judge so harshly. You are more generous, and others respond by being more generous too. Things are coming your way now where you once thought they were blocked.
This is not only true of your own particular life and affairs, but if you are observing you will notice its effect in a measure upon those with whom you come in contact. They are getting more substantially healthy and happy.  –Charles Fillmore, Jesus Christ Heals, Pages 134 - 136
Every problem has a solution.  There is no difficulty that can come to you or me for which there is not a solution and for which we shall not find a solution in time, if we persevere.  Some problems last a long time, some a short time, but always there is a solution, and always the solution is to turn from the outer to the inner. –Emmet Fox, The Ten Commandments, Page 134
...The whole teaching of Jesus is that the outer is but the result of the inner. As you believe, so do you express.
If you want peace, harmony, love, abundance, and health in your life, and you must begin by changing the inner, and the way to do that is to believe that God is working through you.  Quietly turn to Him, and claim that He is guiding, strengthening you, opening your way. Quietly believe it. That is the secret of life, and that secret will open any door, bridge any gap, remove any obstacle, retrieve any mistake, shut out any sin, and clear up any grief, because it is claiming and realizing His Presence, and in His Presence is fullness of joy.  –Emmet Fox, The Ten Commandments, Page 145

The unknown ways of the Spirit can be known by me. I am in a Spiritual Explanation in which I can grow in understanding It in the ways in which It works.  I do not have to take spiritual ideas on faith. I explore them until I have a clear knowledge of them. Then they are my possessions, my pearls of great price. The full life is a field of limitless opportunity. It requires no physical labor.  You see yourself as you have never seen yourself before. You sense the spiritual power that is really yours, a power for you to use to live richly, happily and to give in new ways to other people.  You have the sense that you are unconditioned and free. No problems control your thinking. You're thinking controls and dissipates all problems. Your knowingness is always on time. You know what you need to know at the time that you need to know it.  All ideas are available to you and your mind is open and receptive to them. You rejoice in the limitless opportunity that is yours. Those who live a full life have no fear of the future. They know that tomorrow is today amplified. Tomorrow is the outpicturing up today in a new arrangement.  If there is no fear in this day, there will be no fear in another day.  –From The Power of Decision by Raymond Charles Barker

Free
I celebrate the free Spirit I am.

Sometimes I may forget to give thanks for one of my greatest gifts—freedom. I am free to believe what I wish and worship where I want. I am free to travel and free to express myself. Most important, I am free to choose my thoughts and responses.
In the Silence, I let go of fear, worry, and pain. I release any limiting opinions or views of myself and claim my divine potential. My heart expands with gratitude as I connect with the part of me that knows no limits—my Spirit self.
I affirm: I am free to choose my thoughts and responses and align my dreams with the highest good. I rejoice in the presence of unbounded Spirit in me and claim my infinite potential.

So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.—John 8:36

Consciousness

I center my thoughts on what I want most in my life.
Thoughts held in mind have a powerful magnetic effect called the Law of Attraction. In simple terms, this means what I think about, I bring about. Knowing this, I set my intentions on the love, peace, harmony, and abundance I want most in my life. By keeping my heart focused on good for everyone, I bring forth blessings for myself and others.
I pay attention to what I am thinking, and the results that ensue. I see how what I appreciate, appreciates; how positive expectations yield positive outcomes. I lift my consciousness to manifest blessings for myself and others. I know the power of my consciousness is one with the power of God—and with God, all things are possible.

The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good.—Luke 6:45

"Dear Darrell and Ed: I woke up this morning with this line in my head "When God's in charge, life is large". My first thought was "that must have been the name of a funniest thing episode". I was going to ask you when I was on the show today but, of course, I was so drawn into what you guys were saying that I totally forgot. So my question is "was that an episode title?" or is my thinking being influenced by your show? Either way, it's all good.

Keep up the good work."

"P.S. If it's not the name of a show, feel free to steal my idea!!!

"Funny how God works...  I RANDOMLY chose an episode (literally closed my eyes to let God pick The Episode) to listen to in my car today... And I heard MY OWN voice on the "Awe-Ful" episode  The topic (thank you God) was EXACTLY what I needed to hear!!!!!

Feeling full of gratitude for you guys and your boldness to do your show."

"If what I'm doing is feeling crappy, I switch to something that makes me happy."

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that no great work was ever accomplished without enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is another word for zeal, and zeal is a great stimulator of man. You cannot think of or repeat the word zeal without evoking a certain mental thrill that spurs you to action in some direction if you repeat it over and over...  The beginning of the culture of the mind that enables it to make contact with the realm of creative ideas is faith, and faith is superenthusiasm. You must have such confidence in your ability to make union with creative Mind that you fuse the two and the invisible elements melt and fall into the mold you have made for them.   –Charles Filmore, Jesus Christ Heals, Pages 174, 175
Man does not exist for the purpose of making an impression upon his environment. He does exist to express himself in and through his environment. There is a great difference. Man does not exist to leave a lasting impression upon his environment. Not at all. It is not necessary that we leave any impression. It is not necessary, if we should pass on tonight, that anyone should remember that we have ever lived. All that means anything is that while we live, WE LIVE, and wherever we go from here we shall keep on living. It is quite a burden lifted when we realize that we do not have to move the world – it is going to move anyway. This realization does not lessen our duty toour social obligation. It clarifies it. It enables us to do joyously...  –Ernest Holmes, SOM, Pg 270
Every spirit builds itself a house; and beyond its house a world; and beyond its world, a heaven. Know then, that the world exists for you.  For you is the phenomenon perfect.  What we are, that only can we see. All that Adam had, all that Caesar could, you have and can do. Adam called his house, heaven and earth; Caesar called his house, Rome; you perhaps call yours, a cobbler's trade; a hundred acres of ploughed land; or a scholar's garret.  Yet line for line and point for point, your dominion is as great as theirs, though without fine names.  Build, therefore, your own world. ― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nature
Everything we do has our flavor in it.  To do anything without your essence would be as impossible as the sun shining without heat.  Your essence is the unique dimension you add to any act you express, from  walking your dog to building a skyscraper.   It is the special energy that you came to deliver to the world. Just is no two snowflakes are fingerprints are like, every individual has a unique beautiful contribution to offer.
Never shrink from expressing yourself. Your perspective is the one that will carry you. Follow your unique instincts, and you will be uniquely successful.  –Alan Cohen, A Deep Breath Of Life, May 11

Faith
As I plant spiritual seeds, I have faith they will grow.
When I plant a seed in my garden, I have faith it will grow. When I hold a small, round tomato seed in my hand, I cannot see the plant it will become. Still, I have faith in its potential. I plant the seed in fertile soil. I make sure it gets plenty of sunlight and water and pull weeds that appear around the plant. Over time, my faith is rewarded as I harvest a plump, ripe tomato.
The same natural laws apply in my life. If I am seeking more love, peace, or prosperity, I must plant corresponding seeds. My seeds are my thoughts, words, and actions. I hold them not in my hand, but in my heart. I have faith in the seeds I am planting. I nurture them and allow them time to grow. My faith is rewarded as I reap the desires of my heart.

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.—Hebrews 11:1

As heard on this episode of Funniest Thing!:  What follows is the complete story regarding Darrell's friend Dan Spangler and Operation: Keep Your Spanky.  This article written by Darrell Fusaro originally appeared in the Culver City Crossroads, May 12, 2015.
Culver City Showers Blessings on Veteran, His Dog, and Their Mission
By Darrell Fusaro
Picture

United States Marine Corps veteran Dan Spangler and his dog Spanky’s arrival in Culver City sparked a chain reaction of generosity for their cause. Dan and Spanky have just completed the first 3,500 miles of their nearly 7,000 mile cross country trek from Camp Lejeune, NC to Camp Pendleton, CA to raise awareness and funds for “Operation: Keep Your Spanky,” a new program that provides financial and in-kind assistance for military families and veteran pet owners during times of financial crisis. Dan adopted Spanky in 2003 when he returned home from deployment. Dan needed months of medical treatment for an injury he sustained jumping from a truck when gunfire broke out at a checkpoint. Looking back, he realizes what an important role Spanky played in both his physical and emotional recovery. “I don’t know where I would be without the companionship that my dog Spanky gave me when I came home from Iraq,” says Dan Spangler, who served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps. “Spanky saved me.”

Animal companions play an important role in the stabilization and emotional well-being of our returning veterans. Dan and Spanky are not alone in their mission. Army Ranger veteran Joe Trainor, Jr. and his dog CT joined Dan and Spanky on their adventure, walking in solidarity.

“As soon as I heard what Dan is doing, I knew I wanted to join in,” says Joe, who runs a dog training facility in Chicago and is the founder of 1Pet1Vet, an organization that pairs a military veteran with a dog saved from euthanasia. Joe is going blind due to traumatic brain injuries (TBI) he sustained on duty in Afghanistan, and knows this may be his last chance to see much of the country he fought for. Like Dan, Joe credits his being alive today to a dog. Joe suffers from post-traumatic stress (PTSD) and after he made the rough transition to civilian life, he fell into a deep depression, sinking so low he contemplated suicide. Right at that moment, a dog leapt into his lap, gazing at him with complete compassion. The dog literally stopped Joe and saved his life.

Dan and I became fast friends several years ago. Although we’re both veterans, it’s our mutual love and appreciation for our furry four legged companions that continues to keep our friendship growing. Dan, Spanky, Joe, and CT, planned to arrive in Culver City on Saturday, May 9, 2015 to simply be photographed by my wife, renowned pet photographer, Lori Fusaro. None of us could have predicted the incredible good fortune that was to be showered upon Dan and his mission.

It just so happened that I had been invited to the Disabled American Veterans brunch to take place that morning at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Culver City. The brunch was organized to honor both the outgoing and incoming DAV Presidents. In hopes that they’d be welcomed, I sent word to Dan to drop by with Joe, CT, and Spanky. When they arrived both the incoming and outgoing presidents brought Dan and his clan up on stage to share about “Operation: Keep Your Spanky” with the DAV members.

One member, Air Force veteran Cherlene Aguilar Emfinger was touched by their story. Cherlene, an analyst with Sony Pictures Entertainment was enthusiastic to speak with Dan and Joe since she assists Sony in partnering with veteran based non-profits like Dan’s.

Coincidentally on that same day was the Eleventh Annual George Barris Cruisin’ Back to Culver City Car Show. I had the hunch to reach out to Culver City Councilmember Jeff Cooper, who has helped organize the event since its inception in 2004, and fill him in regarding Dan's arrival in Culver City. I hoped that they’d be able to make an introduction on stage during the event. Jeff’s response was immediate, “Have Dan look for me around the stage when he gets there and I will work him in to an intro on stage.”

The timing was perfect. Dan, Spanky, Joe, and CT were joined on stage by legendary Hollywood car customizer George Barris to share their mission with an adoring audience and eager reporters.

“I want all veterans to have a Spanky, but it’s a sad fact that military veterans often experience financial difficulties where they face the heartbreaking choice of giving up their pets,” says Dan. “We are stopping that cycle and promoting responsible, life-long pet ownership,”

Dan hopes to reverse course through Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee and through North Carolina, ending at Camp Lejeune. The goal is to be home by Memorial Day on May 25. Dan acknowledges the ambitious nature of this adventure, and plans to keep followers up to date using social media. A tracking device donated by Voyce will monitor Spanky’s steps, while GPS tracking devices provided by Garmin and Pod will provide live web tracking of the journey.

Volunteer support along the route is key. “We will go by any means possible—walking for sure, but we’d also love to get rides along the way,” says Dan. Supporters can volunteer to provide transportation, shelter or “even just buying us lunch” on the Facebook page at Operation Keep Your Spanky or via Twitter @keepyourspanky.

Donations for Operation: Keep Your Spanky may be made through Dan’s non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation and are tax-deductible. Per-mile pledges as low as one cent per mile may be made through athlete.com at www.bit.ly/KeepYourSpanky, and flat sum donations are accepted via PayPal to [email protected]. No donations will be used for lodging, food or transportation during the journey.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available; for complete information, please download the sponsorship package at www.KeepYourSpanky.com.

Funniest thing... Darrell and Ed bumped into fan, Noel Bax at their favorite coffee shop in downtown Culver City, CA. L-R, Darrell Fusaro, Edward Biagiotti, Noel Bax
We have great imaginations.  We're happy when we imagine good for ourselves and others because we're co-creating with God.  During this broadcast, Funniest Thing! fan Noel Bax jumps in to read and discuss today's Daily Word®, "Pray for Others."  Click here to listen.

There is always a bit of fear where there is a bit of hurry. When you hurry to the train you are in fear that you may be left, and with that comes fear of other possibilities consequent on your being left. When you hurry to the party, to the meeting of a person by appointment, you are in fear of some ill or damage resulting from not being in time. This habit of thought can, through an unconscious training, grow to such an extent as to pervade a person's mind, at all times and places, and bring on a fear of loss of some kind, when there is absolutely no loss to be sustained. For instance a person may hurry to catch a street car and act and feel as if a great loss would occur did he not get on that particular car, when there may be another close behind, or at most two or three minutes' waiting will bring it. Yet the fear of waiting those three minutes grows to a mountain in size, and is in that person's mind a most disagreeable possibility. Through mere habit a similar condition of hurry may characterize that person's walking, eating, writing -- in short, everything he does, and will render it more and more difficult for such person to act with coolness and deliberation.
The quality of mind or emotion underlying all this hurried mental condition and consequent hurried act, is fear.
  –Prentice Mulford, Thoughts Are Things
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heave... (Matthew 5:44-45)
Right action is the supreme art of life, and Jesus compressed the secret of that art into a sentence when he said: Resist not evil. A correct understanding of this commandment will regenerate your body, liberate your soul, and remake your life.

Love is God and is therefore absolutely all-powerful. Meeting hatred with Love is the perfect method of self-defense in all circumstances. It renders you absolutely invulnerable to any kind of attack.

If you receive bad news, if you are unhappy in your work, or in your home, feel out mentally for the Presence of divine Spirit, all around you; affirm its actuality; and claim that God has dominion over all conditions, and you will soon be free.

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also (1 John 4:21).  –Emmet Fox, Around The Year With Emmet Fox
When you decide to be happy, the creative process of Mind moves into instant action upon your decision. Being all-intelligent, It knows what to do and does it. Ideas reveal themselves in their purity of newness and with their endowment of total capacity to produce themselves fully in your experience. Something takes over your mind that is greater than your present mind.  –Raymond Charles Barker, The Power of Decision

Pray for Others
In the presence of God, all is well.
God is present in every situation. Thus, challenges we face only have the power we give them. As I pray, I affirm this truth for others. I see friends and family awake in the presence of the Christ Light. I behold peace and love in them—knowing wholeness is their true essence.
Each of us is one with Spirit, made perfect and whole. The riches of the kingdom belong to us because we are expressions of God. I see this truth for every person for whom I pray and see it manifest as perfect health, abundant prosperity, and deep peace.
Spirit moves in me, around me, and through me as I pray. I remember love is all there is and love grows as I pray for others.

And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he had prayed for his friends; and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.—Job 42:10

Hey Hey We're the Monkey's!!!  Ha ha ha! Hey guys! I'm doing a little catch-up on your episodes and loved the title. FYI, my nickname is Monkey! From Stephanie, and a lot of people refer me to that:)
Surprise Surprise about learning about my hearing impairment and your programs being Closed Captioned (CC). I do want to provide a heads-up that sometimes the words do not get typed correctly since I think the captioning is done automatically about 24 hours after posting the video. Although everything is ok b/c it's pretty clear:)
Steph and I had a great conversation about you guys and just love your zest for life! I feel like you're part of my family already because we speak the same language. And also make the effort to better ourselves as individuals FIRST, and then spread that to others.
FYI, I'm going through some relationship things with my girlfriend and could use some prayers. We are in transition right now and I know that asking for loving thoughts from others regardless of how things turn-out can be the next best thing.
Thanks for being there!  Have a great day and looking forward to catching the next episode soon!

Darrell and Ed appreciate every fan who tunes in each week to listen to them spread great news and inspired teachings.  Although Darrell and Ed don't solicit donations, fans have been asking how they can help contribute to the production expenses of the show.  We've recently added a PayPal Donate button to honor your request.  Thank you in advance for any contribution you may make.  Darrell and Ed love you!
