We can't control which thoughts enter our mind, but we get to decide which ones stay. When we dwell on thoughts that make us feel swell, we know we're aligned with God's will for us. "If it smells like provolone, I leave it the heck alone."
Drop the head game. Cast out the person in your head who goes on talking and talking, asking questions, judging everything, calculating everything. –Barbara Ann Kipfer, Self-Meditation
If we are to have an active faith- the faith of God instead of merely a faith in God- our thought must be centered in Universal Mind. We are convinced that under divine law all things are possible, if we only believe, and work in conformity with the principles of that Law.  Such a faith is not spring full-orbed into being, but grows by knowledge and experience.  No matter what the outside appearance, we must cling steadfastly to the knowledge that God is good, and God is all, underneath, above and round about. –Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, Pg.162
It becomes very obvious that love is an understanding, respect for all life (all creation), an attempt to look for the good in all things and peoples, and attempt not to look back but to look ahead and at the present, and absence of condemnation, and absence of negative judgment, and absence of negative appraisal of our environment and our circumstances. One should know how one must learn to look at all things in a favorable light…  –Jack H. Holland, Man's Victorious Spirit
There is a mighty force in the world which scientist call electromagnetism. Everything in the universe is electromagnetic in nature, the laws of attraction and repulsion operate electromagnetically; when you assume a positive or negative attitude of mind, you get a positive or negative result; there's no such thing as an accident in life-everything happens in direct accordance with the laws of cause-and-effect! –Claude Bristol, TNT The Power Within You
Begin today to think the way God thinks. The Bible says, "The path of the righteous grows brighter and brighter and brighter." Think increased… Think big… Think expansive!  Start expecting the unexpected and look at life through your eyes of faith. When you do, God will show up and begin to work things out in your favor. Take a step toward victory in your life today. –Joel Osteen, 30 Thoughts For Victorious Living

Transformed
I am transformed in mind, body, and spirit.
I have faith in the power of God to transform my life. When I perceive lack, I tap into Spirit’s dynamic, healing energy. Every condition of my life changes for the better as I reconnect with my spiritual source.
I look into my heart to see what I can shift to better align with God. Perhaps I want to turn sadness into joy or sluggishness into action. Maybe I need to let go of the need to control a situation. I affirm: I trust God’s power to renew and change my life. I am transformed in mind, body, and spirit. Repeating this statement many times leads me to change the way I think. New and better conditions bring me peace, healing, and joy. I am grateful for the power of God!

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds.—Romans 12:2

The Funniest Thing! Mail Bag
From Jorge de Rojas, Miami, FL

Hi Guys, First off thank you for all the times you've lifted me from the doldrums, but today was special. I am healing in faith from some medical and physical challenges for the past several years after a serious accident. While listening to your episode: Get off The Mat! I was reviewing my emails, among them was one sent by a friend for a job opportunity that sounds like something which I can meet the challenge . With you in the background and your joyful jibber jabber! I decided to take the leap and put myself out there in with a positive and healthy Resume to send. While doing so, I was surprised at how much i have managed to accomplish even with my present health challenges. I saw the positive and put that forward in my Resume. I know that whatever may come will be what is best or something better for me.

Dear Darrell and Ed:

I’ve been housebound for the last few days recovering from surgery and was getting a bit stir crazy. I’ve been unable to get out and attend my spiritual program and, although I’ve been reading my spiritual literature and following my morning routine, I was feeling a bit “off”. It wasn’t until yesterday (Wednesday), while listening to the show, that it occurred to me I could listen to other episodes of the show for an extra added boost to my spirit. What a blessing. This morning I listened to the episode “Worry is Nothing to Worry About”. There was so much good stuff packed into that one hour and was exactly what I needed.

I don’t know about you but when I spend too much time with myself I start listening to the negative thoughts in my head. What a relief when I heard you talking about negative thoughts. When I heard you say “negative thoughts are just old beliefs coming up to the surface to be blessed on their way out” and “our thoughts create our reality”, I immediately said “Oh, thank God for that”. I have now adopted the attitude that with every negative thought I will follow it with a blessing and release it to God. I can now stop worrying about whether I will be completely healed in time to go back to work (OF COURSE I WILL) and whether I will be short on cash because of having taken the week off (OF COURSE I WON’T), I know that God takes care of me and always provides what I need. I actually already knew this but sometimes I forget so thanks for the reminder.

I love the fact that, between Unity.fm, the Darrell and Ed webpage, your Facebook page, iTunes, Stitcher and my very favorite Youtube, I can get all the Darrell and Ed I need whenever I need it.

I love you guys and shall always remain a fan for life.

Cathie Quinn

From Sandy Page, Chicago, Illinois

Hi you guys, last week's show was awesome, and I got so much out of it! When Darrell was telling the story about his friend that's a server who didn't feel like going to work that day, I thought it was funny because I had that experience the day before and I actually thought about things you both had said in the past to help me get through my own weirdness. It's pretty rare for me NOT to want to go to work because I enjoy being there, but the other day I was in a foul mood and didn't want to be around people. I go anyway. So, the first customers that I get are an 80 year old couple who just got back from a road trip. The lady goes to the restroom and the man wants to tell me everything about his day. My first thought was, " I'm not in the mood for this, I just wanna go eat soup.". What came to me next was the idea of being "of service" by just standing there and listening to his stories, worries, and whatever else he wanted to get off his mind. As I listened, I felt my bad mood lifting  After about 10 or 15  minutes, I knew that he felt better sharing his concerns about his wife with me, and I also felt better for just listening. AND his stories about their previous Alaskan road trip were really interesting. The rest of my evening got better and better and some of my favorite people came in. Not only that, I got a text right before I was done working asking me if I wanted to go out on my friend's Harley for a beautiful night ride. Nice! So, what I thought was going to be a crappy night turned out so differently than I had expected just because I was willing to be giving enough to listen to someone. I'm so grateful that I have you guys  to remind me of these simple ideas that help so much!!! Love ya both!

Joke of the Day
After digging to a depth of 10 feet last year, New York scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and concluded that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, a California archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, a story in the LA Times read: "California archaeologists, report finding of 200 year old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the New Yorkers."

One week later. a local newspaper in Missouri reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 feet in his pasture near Unity Village, Jeff Comfort, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Comfort has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, Unity Village had already gone wireless.”

"When I start to feel like poo, I seek a God's eye view!"
Humor is a high level approach to life's experiences. –Eric Butterworth
The psalmist says, "He who sits in the heavens laughs."
Impatient? Try levitating

Impatience with other people is one of my principal failings. Following a slow car in a no passing lane, or waiting in a restaurant for the check, drive me to distraction. Before I give God a chance to slow me down, I explode, and that's what I call being quicker than God. That repeated experience gave me an idea. I thought if I could look down on these events from God's point of view, I might better control my feelings and behavior. I tried it and when I encountered the next slow driver, I levitated and look down on the car and upon myself. I saw an elderly couple driving along, happily chatting about their grandchildren. They were followed by me-bug eyed and red of face-who had no time schedule to meet anyway.  I look so silly they drop back into reality and slow down. Seeing things from God's angle of vision can be very relaxing. –Daily Reflections, Alcoholics Anonymous, June 10
I always say to myself, what is the most important thing we can think about at this extraordinary moment. –R. Buckminster Fuller

There are times when life seems much more fulfilling and exciting than usual. Conversations with other people are interesting, almost without exception.  We are stimulated by sights, sounds, and events that at other times have seemed completely mundane.
The difference is not in the interactions or occurrences, but in the level of our enthusiasm. When we are enthusiastic, our minds are unclouded and our vision is clearly focused.  We are better able to absorb, understand, and appreciate what is going on around us. There is always something new to explore and enjoy.
At home or at work, our enthusiasm brings about deeper appreciation for family members and friends. We listen to their ideas and opinions in an entirely different way.
When we are enthusiastic, we expressed positive energy that is often contagious. Aren't easy as I'm cannot only transform ordinary goings-on into richly rewarding experiences, but can also bring about a similar attitude and those around us.
If we can remain enthusiastic today, we will be alert and open to pleasures we might otherwise miss. As we respond enthusiastically to this day, so will we derive joy and satisfaction as it unfolds.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:  When I am enthusiastic there is always something new to explore and enjoy. –A New Day, July 18th
Here is how you may enter the womb of God and be reborn:  Get still and quiet by relaxing the mind and body. Detach yourself from the old way of thinking and form a new concept or estimate of yourself.  Imagine and feel the reality of the new ideal; live with it; envelop it in love; then the ideal will be resurrected in you, and you will become a changed man.  –Joseph Murphy, Peace Within Yourself, Pg. 57
My father is greater than I. –John 14:28.  This means that the creator is always greater than his creation. The thinker is greater than his thoughts. The artist is greater than his art. Our consciousness is greater than its conception. Knowing this, we realize we have the power to transcend our present concept of ourselves for there is no end to our unfoldment. –Joseph Murphy, Peace Within Yourself.
Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.  –Philippians 4:6-7
Keep alive the commitment to the view from the top. Keep centered in the feeling of Thanksgiving. It is not just to be grateful for a loving friends, for an affluence of wonderful things, and for the divine order and everything that happens in your life. It is so much more. You are grateful from the route of reality that is evidenced by these things. Your Thanksgiving is more than a response to what is happening around you or to you. It is a celebration of truth, which becomes a casual assurance of a continuity of blessings, leading toward prosperity for you.  –Spiritual Economics, Eric Butterworth, Pg. 98

Curiosity
As I open to Life, my good is limitless.
Photographers look at subjects from many angles. They move right, left, up, and down. They crawl on the ground and climb onto objects to see things differently. These artists let their curiosity be their guide. They reveal life in unique and beautiful ways.
I tap into my curiosity with the intention to explore new perspectives. When I prepare to meet someone or try a new activity, I approach the encounter with wonder. From the most routine situation to complex life choices, curiosity helps me find the best solution.
I open my heart and mind to see beyond what I already know and expect. In this place of openness, my good is limitless.

Who does great things beyond understanding, and marvelous things without number.
—Job 9:10

Joke of the Day
An old lady was using a weed-whacker.  Her cat was hiding in the bushes and she accidentally cut off her tail. The woman scooped up the cat and it's severed tail and yelled, "Help! Someone bring me to WalMart right away!"

Her friend looked out her door and said, "WalMart?, Why do you want to go there?"

The old lady replied, "Well, they tell me that WalMart is one of our nation's biggest re-tailers?!"

Matthew delivered the great news, "Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive" (Matthew 21:22). In other words, it's recommended that we enjoy the feeling of expectancy as we anticipate the answer to our prayer. Former United States Army Green Beret Sgt. Larry Broughton, CEO of Broughton Hotels, drops in to read and discuss today's Daily Word®, "Healing." Click here to download and listen.
The 3 Breaths
"When I give up my worry, God acts in a hurry."

Belief takes you where you want to go with the speed of jet propulsion. Doubt an disbelief take you just this far in the opposite direction. Belief always magnetizes; disbelief demagnetizes.
You know something of the efficacy of prayer. What is prayer but the expression of a heartfelt, earnest, sincere want or desire?  The Great Master said: "What things so ever you desire, when you pray believe that you receive them, and you shall have them."
–Page 137, TNT The Power Within You by Claude Bristol
"The Kingdom of God is within you."  When we become conscious of our Oneness with Universal Good, beliefs in evil, sin, sickness, limitation, and death tend to disappear.  We shall no longer "ask amiss," supplicating as though God were not willing, begging as though He were withholding. –Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, Pg. 150.
Daily communion with God demonstrates my humility and provides me with the realization that an entity more powerful than I is willing to help me if I quit trying to play God myself.  –Daily Reflections, Alcoholics Anonymous, July 12.
Divine Love now dissolves and dissipates every wrong condition in my mind, body and affairs. Divine Love is the most powerful chemical in the universe, and dissolves everything which is not of itself!  –The Game of Life, Florence Scovel Shinn
When we surrender our need to be in control, we are more open and welcoming of the good things that come our way.  –Touchstones Daily Meditations For Men, Hazeldon, July 12.
I Am Supplied from the Substance of God

Every good gift...cometh down from the Father. -James 1:11

It is the nature of God to give, and it our nature to receive...  God has not failed humanity...  This is why Jesus told us we must believe that we really have received the gift before we see its evidence.  This is an active faith, but it should be a faith built on the sure knowledge, a certain foundation, the positive conviction, that there is something that responds to us, gladly, readily, willingly, joyously, and without limit.
Today I am living in the quiet and joyous expectation of good...  God is not only the Giver, He is the gift.  This gift I receive in joy, with gratitude, and with a complete sense of security.  I expect everything I do to prosper. I expect new and wonderful experiences to come to me.  I am living in complete confidence that the Kingdom of Heaven is here and now and that I am prospered in everything I do.  –Ernest Holmes, 365 Science of Mind

Healing
I am renewed by the healing power of prayer.
For thousands of years, healers have used the power of prayer to rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. Today, while we have many scientific remedies available, prayer remains a vital part of healing.
Every day, I affirm my truth: Perfect health is my divine inheritance. I may repeat this many times a day, as Unity co-founder Myrtle Fillmore taught us to do. As I meditate, I envision God’s presence as a warm light flowing in and through me, renewing and restoring every cell of my being.
Part of healing is forgiving myself and others for any thoughts, words, or actions that caused hurt. Prayer and meditation make forgiveness possible. Thank you, God, for the renewing, healing power of prayer.

Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.—Matthew 21:22

From Karen Bressner,

I am writing today to recommend the poetry of Mary Oliver. I think that some of her writing might resonate with you. The work is easy to find online, in libraries, etc. Here are some examples:

the poem, 'Messenger' which begins with
"My work is loving the world . . . "
also, from the poem 'When I Am Among the Trees':
And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”
(book entitled Thirst)

Keep up the great work!!

You Can Only Love Your Neighbor As You Love Yourself

God does not expect you to love your neighbor at your expense. He does expect you to feel so wonderful about being you that you naturally exude love toward others throughout your day. The 3 Breaths
"God paid my tab, so this one's on me!"

What if you were about to meet your perfect lover?  What if you knew this love her better than anyone else in the world, and this lover knew you better than anyone else? What if you like the same food, love the same movies, listen to the same music, rooted for the same teams, enjoy the same friends, or fascinated by the same books, had the same spiritual believes, cared about the same causes, and share the same goals? What if you absolutely knew you two could live together comfortably? What if this love her always had your best interest at heart? What if you were brought before a large door and told that, behind the door, was the love of your life? You straighten your hair, pop a Certs, take a deep breath, open the door… and find yourself face-to-face… with a mirror.  –Love 101, To Love Oneself Is The Beginning Of a Lifelong Romance, by Peter McWilliams
A THRILLING EXPERIMENT
Why not make the following experiment, which will not only be thrillingly interesting, but will certainly teach you more in one day than you could learn from books or lectures in many weeks.
Here is what you have to do. For one whole day think, speak, and act exactly as you would if you were absolutely convinced of the truth of the statements that God has all power and infinite intelligence, and that His nature is infinite goodness and love.
To think in this manner all day will be the most difficult thing, because thought is so subtle. To speak in accordance with these truths will be easier, if you are vigilant. To act in accordance with them will be the easiest part, although it may require much in the way of moral courage.

And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform (Romans 4:21).
–From Around The Year With Emmet Fox, July 8
"At the moment of commitment the entire universe conspires to assist you."  –Goethe
IS IT SELFISH?
Is it selfish to pray for yourself? Some people think that it is, and say that you should pray only for others, but this, of course, is a foolish idea.
You must pray for yourself constantly. How could it be otherwise? We worship God by believing in Him, trusting Him, and loving Him wholeheartedly--and we can attain to that only through prayer. The sole object of our being here is that we may grow like him--and we can do that only through prayer.
The more we pray for ourselves the more power will our prayers have for any other purpose whatever; so praying for ourselves is the reverse of selfishness--it is truly glorifying God.

Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy... Rejoice the soul of thy servant; for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul (Psalm 86:1, 4).

Pray for Others
I SEE YOU HEALTHY, HAPPY, AND PROSPEROUS.
When I pray for my loved ones, I know my words are like icing on the cake. God loves them unconditionally and so do I. They are whole, strong, and secure now and always.
I may be in the habit of focusing on the weaknesses of my loved ones. I release this tendency and focus on their wisdom within. I trust their powers of guidance and understanding as they make daily decisions. I see them in the light of God—embracing their freedom. With every thought, I see my loved ones as beautiful expressions of the Christ. They are light, love, and peace. I affirm: I see you healthy, happy, and prosperous.

I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act.—Ezekiel 37:14
I Share the Gifts of God
Today I consciously share in the gifts of life. I open my whole thought and my whole being to the Divine influx.  I establish my mind in expectancy, the feeling that all the good there is must belong to everyone who will take it. I am receiving the Divine gift right now.  Today I am seeing the gift of life coming to me from every source, and even as it comes into my outstretched hands, uplifted to receive it, I enjoy the gift and pass it on.  Freely I give everything I have, blessing the gift as it passes through me to others, that it may be multiplied in their experience and in God's good way come back again to me. –Ernest Holmes, 365 Science of Mind, July 5th

Went on an audition today and talked my agent afterwards, neither of which I thought were fruitful but after I listened to you podcast on baptism. I baptized the audition and conversation and felt great. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

From Christina Robohm, Oakland, CA

Hi guys,

I've gotta say, funniest thing moments happen all the time so I would fill up your inbox but since I've got your ear, here's another thank you:

I went to a local yoga temple today in need of some love, centering and uplifting. Sometimes it can be really confusing to know whether I'm doing the spiritual thing 'right' and then it feels weird in my body. I literally got dizzy, sick and got a pain in my knee in this mass and thought "well maybe this is bringing up something I need to let go of and process". In a funk, I went to the beach to read Love Poems from God and just being on the Earth felt good. I got in the car and what had been in my ear all along "turn on Darrell and Ed, you feel GOOD when you listen to them so it must be the truth" finally won and I put on an archived show. I feel so much better. You take readings and studies I use on a daily basis and make them understandable and applicable, that's a talent my friends. So thank you again, I am deeply grateful that I found your show.

Much love and happy independence!  Christina

Today is a special episode, part of the Unity Online Radio Ignite Your Life lecture series.  Our topic is Confidence.
Confidence comes from being vulnerable.  It means remaining open to our good even when we think we don't deserve it.  When we feel scared or threatened, it's tempting to run back to things that used to give us security and try to make them work.  God is always pushing upward and onward, never backward.  Click here to download/listen.

Love Dissolves All Fear

Greater than fear is Love.
Love dissolves all fear, casts out all doubt and sets the captives free.
Love, like the river of life, flows through me and refreshes me with these eternal blessings.
Love cannot be afraid; it is fearless and strong, and it is mighty in its works.
It can accomplish all things through the Inner Light of that faith in the All Good,
Which fills my very Being with a Powerful Presence.
Love casts out all fear.

–Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, Pg. 522
It Is Done Unto Us

What a marvelous thought to bear in mind:  that it is done unto us! We need not coerce, we do not create the power, but we must LET this Great Power operate through us.  WE DO NOT CREATE.  WE USE THE POWER OF THE ONE MIND, WHICH CREATES FOR US!
What we outwardly are, and what we are to become, depends upon what we are thinking, for this is the way we are using Creative Power.  The sooner we release our minds from the thought that we have to create, the sooner we shall be able to work in line with Spirit. Always man uses; he never creates anything.  –Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind, Pg. 140
Many people think they would like to be what is called dynamic but it does not appear that they always have a clear idea of what that expression really means. Aggressive and noisy? Bombastic, in manner?
A dynamic person is one who really makes a difference in the world: who does something that changes things or people. The magnitude of the word done may mot be great, but the world is different because that person has lived and worked. The real secret of dynamic personality is to believe that God works through you, whatever you may be doing; to put His service first, and to be as sincere, practical, and efficient as you know how.

....know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind... (1 Choronicles 28:8)

–Around The Year With Emmet Fox, September 24.
Why not organize the business of living in a big way? Why creep along, as some do, from one tiny stepping stone to another instead of striding out boldly? Why be content with poor health, uninteresting work, or restricted conditions, when many other people have already risen above these things?
There is a way out of limitation that never fails. It is this, take God for your partner. If you will really make God your business partner in every department of your life, you will be amazed at the quick and striking results that you will obtain. Of course, if you want God to be your partner, you will have to include Him in every corner and every phase of your life.
Most people would be thrilled to be able to go into partnership with some great industrial or financial magnate; they would feel that their future was assured. But here is a partnership with Infinite Wisdom and Infinite Power awaiting you.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing
(John 15:5).

God is the act of loving. No matter what the circumstances, when we express love we let God's power flow freely, baptizing our life with success. Music therapist and retired Navy Captain Becky Watson keeps things blossoming with today's Daily Word®, "Baptism." Click here to download/listen.
The 3 Breaths
"I bless my mess, when I baptize it success."

A metaphysician once gave me a wonderful recipe for taking every trick in the game of life, it is the acme of non-resistance.  He gave it in this way; "At one time in my life, I baptized children, and of course, they had many names.  Now I know longer baptize children, but I baptize events, but I give every event the same name.  If I have a failure I baptize it success, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost!" –Florence Scovel Schinn, The Game of Life & How to Play It.
When you trust the creative power of the universe, you know what real relaxation is.  You do not have to solve the problems of the world unless you are the head of a government.  You do not have to solve other peoples troubles unless you are a professional counselor.  You do have to solve your own problems, and this you do without fuss and anxiety.  You make right decisions and let the subconscious mind do the work.  Your attitude is, "I am resolved what to do" (Luke 16:4).  Therefore, tensions regarding decisions cannot arise in your mind, emotions and body.
To trust in Life reduces the pressures of every day living. It makes you feel that the whole world is supporting you at all times.  This is exactly what the world is doing. Something great, wonderful, and true is backing up each of us.  –Raymond Charles Barker, The Power of Decision.
It is often said that the greatest need a man is to be loved, which is true. But it is a mistake to think that this need for love can be filled by others.  Our yearning for love can be satisfied only by touching the Love Center within us. It is a "remembering" that "In the beginning... love" is the root of our being.  The key to developing a consciousness of this love so that the energy of love may flow easily in and through us and meditation, "Man's love affair with God."
Charles Fillmore once said, "One should make it a practice to meditate regularly on the love idea in Universal Mind, with the prayer, "Divine Love, manifest thyself in me."  This produces a positive love current, which, when sent forth with power, will break up opposing thoughts and render them null and void. . . .  The love current is not a projection of the will, it is a setting free of a natural equalizing, harmonizing force that in most people has been dammed up by human limitation."
Meditation is an experience and loving and being loved that the Center of us. This Center is not a place to go but a level of consciousness to feel.  In this consciousness we love God and God loves us. There is no question of the latter, for –"I have loved you with an everlasting love."  Our need is to accept it, to experience it, the bubble over with it. It is a consciousness that we are in love with God, and God is in love with us.  And this sense of oneness in love "is the only real business of nature."
When we feel the emotion of love, it is customary for the face to light up. The constant experience of transcendental love imparts to the face and to the whole being a spiritual radiance.  The smile becomes a light with spiritual beauty. The smiling face is not only beautiful and joyful –it is "loveful."  –Eric Butterworth, Life is for Loving

Today I Bestow the Essence of Love Upon Everything
Love is the fulfillment of the Law, we do not make the highest use of the law unless that use is motivated by love, by a sincere desire to express unity, harmony, and peace...  We must embrace the essence of love that we may transmit it, giving loveliness to all events.
Today I bestow the limitless love flowing through me upon everything. Everyone will be lovely to me. My soul meets the soul of the universe in everyone. Nothing is ordinary; it is all beautiful, all meaningful.  This love is a healing power that touches everything into wholeness, healing the wounds of experience with its divine balm.  I know that this Love Essence, the very Substance of Life, the creative Principle back of everything, flows through my whole being, spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical.  It flows in transcendent loveliness into my world of thought in form, ever renewing, vitalizing, bringing joy and harmony, and blessing everything and everyone it touches.  –Ernest Holmes, 365 Science of Mind, June 23rd

Baptism
I go forth in the name of Love.
When I think of the baptism of Jesus, I imagine it provided him with a clearer understanding of himself as a bearer of peace and love. When I meditate, I may experience a cleansing similar to a baptism and emerge feeling God’s grace.
My baptism in love may bring forth an intense feeling of compassion as I look into the eyes of another. I may feel divine love during prayer and know I am Spirit expressing. God may call me to be the hands and heart of love as I volunteer and help others.
Today I am baptized in the name of love and I go forth, as Jesus did, to be love, compassion, and kindness in the world.

Then Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you will drink; and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized.”–Mark 10:39

As I'm driving in a car getting excited about the show coming on later, I decided that when I get home I'm going to write you a note to tell you about all the benefits I receive from listening. Just then, I realize that the song on the radio is "Right Now" (by Van Halen), so I pulled over to write it. LOL. Anyway, not only do you guys help me every week with helpful practical ideas that I use, but I find myself quoting you and passing these ideas to the many people I come across just about every day. So, just to let you know, you're show helps so many more people than just the ones that hear it. Thank you, thank you, and bravo!

"Everything is easy, when I remember how God really sees me."

By finding the all-providing love of God within your own soul, you become a magnet to attract manifest supply to yourself. You become a magnet to attract divine ideas, and your innate wisdom reveals to you how to use these ideas to the best advantage. –Myrtle Fillmore
It is not your action that matters; it is your vibration…it is not what you are doing that makes the difference; it is how you are feeling about what you are doing.  –Abraham
According to Plato's law, as you feel grateful, you become attractive, not only in your beauty and radiance, but in your relationships with people.  More important, you release the vital energy that draws two opportunities, employment, and secure flow of substance.  Everything begins to work in your life in an orderly and creative way. You may be so uplifted in the joy of thanksgiving that your consciousness easily gives vent to the activity of blessing.  In your gratefulness of heart, you can confirm prosperity upon all the many things, experiences, and people, whose performances have such a profound influence on your life.  Bless the car you drive or the bus or train you ride.  Bless the weather and the traffic.  Bless your place of business employment.  Bless your employer and your coworkers.  Bless your investments and your cash flow.  Bless your home and family.  Bless your friends and neighbors.  –From Spiritual Economics by Eric Butterworth.
"A grateful mind is a great mind which eventually attracts to itself great things." –Plato
Today I Live
All books of spiritual wisdom have said that it is not the one who makes the mistake whom we should seek to destroy; it is the mistake it's self that must be erased...  If we behold beauty instead of ugliness, then beauty will appear. If we persist in seeing the true rather than the false, that which is true will appear. Let us, then, cease weeping over the shortcomings and mistakes and evils of our yesterday and, steadfastly beholding the face of the great and the divine reality, let us resolve to walk in the light where in there is no darkness.  –Ernest Holmes, 365 Science of Mind,  June 17th

Prosperity
I prosper by seeing and claiming the good.
While many distractions in life may lead me to focus on what is not working, today I choose a prosperous outlook instead. I remember to “look for the good.” In fact, I make this my mantra for everyday life.
Even if I face some challenges, I see blessings in my health, creative endeavors, finances, and family. I see openness, kindness, and other positive qualities within myself.
I even see the good that can come from tragedy. I notice how communities affected by natural disasters band together to rebuild homes and lives. By seeing the good, I feel uplifted. My prosperous attitude inspires others as well. The multiplying power of prosperity is at work through me—and it is good!

May you see the prosperity … all the days of your life.–Psalm 128:5

Love, love your show! I listen on Unity.FM while I'm getting ready for work one morning and then watch the YouTube episode later in the week for a second blessing and lift! The real life examples you give are SO meaningful and helpful. Thanks for all the energy and time you both put into making each show. I know you have to be helping lots of other people beside me!!

From Karen B.

Dear Darrell and Ed or Dear Ed and Darrell (lol),

My husband encouraged me to share the following with you:
On one of your shows, you suggested that any person could walk into a catholic church at any time to pray. I liked the idea, so my husband and I went to one in our neighborhood. We had a very positive experience and plan to visit this church again in the future.
While sitting in the chapel, I turned down the volume on my phone as low as possible; nonetheless it rang with mildly audible vibration. I ignored the call. Later, in the car, I listened to the voicemail which was from my pharmacy. My prescriptions were ready; two which are routinely provided for free by a local grocery chain. I said to my husband "Perhaps the timing of this phone call (while we were in the chapel) is meant as a reminder of our blessings." Furthermore, one might make the connection that prayer is free medicine!

Sincerely, your fan

From Becky Watson, Norfolk, VA

I'm in need of some "spiritual guidance" and "scripture" text ... on Sunday, 6/21 I'm honored to welcome the sun during an Alzheimer's Association event called the Longest Day ... we will be using a gong, tone chimes and light heart beat drumming ... I'm looking for a meaningful bible/scripture verse to open the event and/or to chant ... any suggestions?

Darrell and Ed replied:

Hello Becky,

Considering the event, the incredible work you do, and the insight you've shared with us on the show, Ed and I offer you these suggestions.

"Don't let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold, but let God remold your mind from within." Romans 1:2

"God does the work. All we have to do is to believe it."  –Found in margin, Darrell wrote this in the margin of his copy of Spiritual Economics by Eric Butterworth.

"Time and space obliterated!  I live in the wonderful now, birthless and deathless! I am one with The One!"  –From Your Word is Your Wand by Florence Scovel Schinn.

And that's not all...

One more came to mind:

From 1 Corinthians 13

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

We hope you find these helpful.

Darrell and Ed love you!!

And Becky responded:

Hi Darrell and Ed,

I have to share this one as well ...another beautiful scripture ...

Isaiah 58:8

Then your light will break forth like the dawn,

    and your healing will quickly appear;

then your righteousness[a] will go before you,

and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

Wow, what a wonderful journey planning this event has been...so much

love and kindness from everyone...I'm SO BLESSED!!

Becky

End The War on Joy

Blessed literally means "happy."  Trust joy as a green light from God.  Stephanie Havelka, founder and innovator of Sportkini, drops in to read and discuss today's Daily Word®, "Pray for Others."  Click here to download/listen.
The 3 Breaths
"I do myself a favor, and share joy with my neighbor."

So what does it mean to be blessed?  The word blessed Jesus used in the Sermon on the Mount is from the Greek word makarios, which means to be happy or blissful, but it also means a self-contained happiness.  The Greeks called the Island of Cyprus "the happy isle." They believed that because of its geographical location, perfect climate, and fertile soil that anyone who lived on Cyprus had it made in the shade.  And the term they associated with the island was makarios.  They believed everything you needed to be happy was right there on Cyprus.
We can't all move to Cyprus, but the idea is that our happiness is independent of our circumstances.  It is self-contained, meaning that regardless of what is happening to us externally, we can be truly happy internally.  We can be genuinely blessed as followers of Jesus Christ.
   –BibleHub.com
You can never have a happy ending at the end of an unhappy journey;  it just doesn't work out that way.  The way you're feeling, along the way, is the way you're continuing to pre-pave your journey, and it's the way it's going to continue to turn out until you do something about the way you are feeling.  --- Abraham
What are the most wonderful things about God, for the human point of view, it is unexpectedness.   When we pray in the true spiritual manner, leaving the solution to Him, and desiring only that His will may be done–because we know that the Will of God is always something Joyous and good–we know that our prayers will be answered, but we never know just how.
God answers prayer in the most unexpected way; and that is half the fun.   When we pray it usually seems that there is some obvious way in which the demonstration will come–and then, lo and behold, it comes in and surprising and delightful way. Sometimes it seems that there is no way, humanly speaking, in which the problem can be solved, and yet solved it is, and in some glorious and thrilling manner.
God acts out of the blue, so to speak. If we would only have a quiet faith in our prayer, without being tense or fussing, leaving the ways and means to Him, but being confident that the demonstration will come, come it will, and the result will always be even better than we hoped.
"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee thine desires of thine heart."  Psalm 37:4
–Make Your Life Worthwhile, Emmet Fox.

Value Yourself: Beloved, believe us when we say that as you give to yourself, so you give to others.  Nurture yourself as a way of caring for your family, friends, and the entire population.  Value yourself as a means of cherishing everyone on earth; honor yourself in order to pay tribute to all others.
The more you give to yourself, the more you feel great love - and that emotion is the key to happiness and peace. Your self-care extends the joyful spark of creation for the benefit of all.   -–Doreen Virtue, Daily Guidance from Your Angels

Pray for Others
When I pray for others, I experience our Oneness.

Praying for others is a sacred honor. I may pray for someone by writing their name on my prayer list. I visualize each person on my list and see them as God does. I speak an affirmative prayer specifically for them.
If someone seeks guidance, I see them walking confidently in the direction of their good. For healing, I imagine them whole, well, energized, and free. When I hear of someone’s heartache, I envision them wrapped in the peace of Spirit.
When I pray for others, I pray for myself. I empathize, knowing our human experience has similar challenges. We are one in Spirit—strong, wise, and whole.

Therefore … pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.–James 5:16

"I'm in the right place, when I trust in God's grace."

It is man's divine right to have plenty!  More than enough! "His barns should be full, and his cup should flow over!"  This is God's idea for man, and when man breaks down the barriers of lack in his own consciousness, the Golden Age will be his, and every righteous desire of his heart fulfilled! –The Game of Life, Florence Scovel Shinn, pg 38.
Anytime you feel negative emotion, stop and say: Something is important here; otherwise, I would not be feeling this negative emotion. What is it that I want? And then simply turn your attention to what you do want. . . . In the moment you turn your attention to what you want, the negative attraction will stop; and in the moment the negative attraction stops, the positive attraction will begin. And—in that moment—your feeling will change from not feeling good to feeling good. That is the Process of Pivoting.  –Abraham, Excerpted from the workshop: Money and the Law of Attraction on August 31, 2008
Why should you not expect the greatest and the finest in your life?  We exist in a Divine bounty that awaits our taking, and the way of taking is a mental one that starts with desire, decision, and expectancy.  No one is ever too young or too old to expect great things. No one is to poor or too rich to expect great things. If you're sick, expect to get well. If you are unhappy, expect to be happy. No power outside yourself is demanding that you be miserable.  All of life want you to be healthy, happy and free to do what you want to do. –Raymond Charles Barker, The Power of Decision, pg 123.
There is nothing we have done, said or thought which rises up against us, which has power over us or which limits us; there is no memory of fear,  no condemnation for previous mistakes. ... The Universe holds nothing against us; It can hold nothing against us, because It can know nothing unlike Itself. Therefore, It only knows us as perfect. There has never been an occurrence for which we have to suffer!   Consequently, every apparent short comment-which could be traced to some mental or spiritual infringement of the Law-is not only removed but the effect is healed!  This means there is no history to our case.  –The Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes, pg 561.

Grace
I open my heart to God’s grace.
God’s love includes an ever-present source of ease—the gift of divine grace. If I am praying for resolution to a situation for myself or a loved one, I affirm the truth: The activity of God’s grace ensures every need is met.
While grace is always there, I may close my heart to the peace it provides. As I stay in touch with God through prayer and meditation, I become more aware of the life-giving presence of grace. I expect a happy, healthy solution to emerge as I ask for guidance.
Grace heals me and prepares me to accept more goodness in my life. Prosperity, joy, and peace are mine. I open my heart to grace and bask in my Oneness with God.

Through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for the sake of his name.—Romans 1:5

From Eric Varndell, Medina, Ohio

I'm currently in India. I've been traveling almost 3 weeks for my new job. The funniest thing happened today. On the plane from Ahmedebad to Bangalore, I "coincidentally" was seated next to a sister in the Brahmkumaris World Spiritual Church. We started talking and she told be all about her highly evolved spiritual life. It was incredible. I realized as she was talking to me how much of the eastern philosophy Chuck and Mert (the Fillmores) took from eastern religion for Unity. It was like I was talking to a Unity Minister.  But an Indian. And in India. And not associated at all with Unity. You know what I mean.

This whole experience has just reinforced for me all the stuff you and Ed talk about on the show. This job came to me easily and effortlessly and look at where it has already taken me (I've also been to Panama and Mexico City twice since taking the job less than 3 months ago.)    Eric

Giving makes us rich. It's the perfect prescription for improved health, wealth, and well-being. Funniest Thing! fan Sandy Page joins Darrell and Ed to read and discuss today's Daily Word®, "Sharing."  Click here to download podcast.
The 3 Breaths
"When it's time to get living, it's time to get giving."

God is the divine givingness of the Universe. And you are created in the image-likeness of this divine givingness. You cannot make any sense out of life or realize the free flow of substance in your experience until you begin to see yourself as a giver.   It may mean a complete turnaround in your approach to life, where you think "give" instead of "get. "  In your spiritual quest, you are seeking to establish yourself in a unitive relationship with the divine flow.   You can never really achieve this level of consciousness until giving becomes the main thrust of your life. And when it does, when you discover the wonder of giving, you become, unblushingly, an incurable giver.  Meditate long on this point, fruit is one of the most important keys of the prosperity law. Life for the whole person is a giving process.  –Spiritual Economics, Eric Butterworth, pg 169.
It is a great truth that "love begets love. "  We have only to start practicing the circulation of loving thoughts, words, and actions in our life to prove this. It is correspondingly true that if we desire much joy and happiness, we must radiate more happiness into other lives.  If we want more vigor and vitality, we must put to work the physical energy we already have. If we want success and prosperity, we must use the utmost what is already ours. In other words, stagnation his death but circulation in is life.  Prosperity is sixth Commandment therefore is this: Thou shall not take thy wealth out of circulation.  –Prosperity's Ten Commandments, Georgiana Tree West, pg 36.
The Coin of Love

Your real wealth is–How much Life or Love you have.  Love is the willingness of Life to give. Use Love as you would use money. Spend it lavishly. Love is the magnet that draws things to you.
Say, "Divine Love in me is an irresistible magnet drawing my good to me instantly. "
Love is the universal coin that reaches out to all. Love is giving, not hard gold, but silver-gold thoughts, helping people find themselves and return to their true heritage of wealth. So, you buy everything you want on the Spiritual plane with Love, Joy and Praise.

The Coin of Praise

Praise is Love's avenue of expression, a form of Love. Use it and mean it. Praise anything or anybody, and he will instantly respond to you and give you his best. It is the Spirit of Consciousness of God or Love within you which is the source of your true wealth.  The more you draw upon it the more it will increase.

The Coin of Joy

Joy is the "How " you get what you want.  Pour Joy through you by getting in the mood of delight, then think of the things you want, and poor Joy into them, and you stimulate them into activity. This activity of Joy is contagious.
–YOU, Frances Wilshire, pg 37 - 38.

God is more completely expressed through the man who lives largely than through the one who lives meagerly.  Fear is a belief in limitation, a denial that the Divine is the Center and the Source of all good. “Perfect love casts out fear;” that is, confidence overcomes the depression of doubt... To overcome fear is the greatest adventure of the mind of man.  –The Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes, pg 404.

Sharing
I share my blessings with effortless generosity.

Today I practice prosperity by sharing my blessings. When I receive a sum of money or something else of value, I share it. I consider organizations and individuals who feed me spiritually and give back to them with my time, talent, and treasure. I enjoy sharing and notice how my generosity lifts the spirits of others.
Charles Fillmore, cofounder of Unity, taught that “we increase whatever we praise.” When I notice someone has done well, gone above and beyond, or has said or done something inspiring, I praise them. Appreciating them makes me happy! Seeing the joy on another’s face is reason enough to generously share my praise and blessings.

They broke bread ... with glad and generous hearts ... And day by day the Lord added to their numbers those who were being saved.–Acts 2:46-47
The Message:  Acts 2: 46-47

They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.

From Paul Lucas, Butler, PA

Hello Darrell and Ed.  I am listening to your latest show (Freedom’s just another word…) where Darrell ( think its Darrell) is talking about his distress.

Have you read “Heart-Shaped Metaphysics” by Paul Hassellbeck? In there they talk about chemicalization?  It is a process we go through when we try to adopt these new ideas and when they come up against the unworthy thoughts we used to have.  It sounds like you might be going through this. Read up on it.  Also they talk about it on an episode of Metaphysical Romp. You can find it by using the search feature on the unity fm site.

Best Wishes,  Paul Lucas your friend and fan.

Hi guys.  It's Bobby also known as Ace.  I hope you are doing well.  I like this topic about having freedom over my thoughts; could've used it last week when I was going to visit a good friend.  Being that things have been changing in my life I wasn't so sure about this friend of mine who has been in my life for three and a half years.  Well, God took care of everything.  I had a great weekend.  Now I'm back and I'm about to take my nap.  Keep me in prayer this summer

Because we are now in our thunderstorm season.  That's never a fun time of year for me.  Thank you for everything.  Love you guys.

Hi. I'm buying this for my friend's son. He just turned 16 and is a talented illustrator with his own sense of humor that he brings out in his characters. He's starting home schooling because of several bullying instances at school. Despite everything he's been through, he remains a bright light, cheerful and positive young man, always willing to show you his next creation. He's taught us by example to lead with our hearts, so it is a pleasure to share this with him. Thank you.
